Term 2 - Week 5

Our weeks seem to be flying by. I’m not sure if it’s to do with the short weeks at the start of the term or whether the Earth just seems to be rotating faster. But we have definitely been trying to figure that out during Science.
Bradley - Week 5 Student of the Week

Student of the Week
Well done to Bradley who received our student of the week for Week 5 this term. Your hard work in class is not going unnoticed.

Attendance
Another big attendance from 5A this week. Lots of information being embedded into our brains for the weeks ahead.

Week 5 - Perfect Attendance Students
Patrick - 50 Laps Run Club
Brodie - 50 Laps Run Club
Run Club Champions for 5A - Reaching 50 laps

English
This week we have been researching about Flying Foxes and what they have are doing in Larossa Bay. They seem to be driving some people batty with the amount of noise and smell.
Science
Students are understanding that our planets are not the only thing out in our space. There are other objects which are called Celestial Bodies.
Other Activities
Our Year 5 students were involved with helping keep our school tidy during our play and lunch breaks. Well-done to 2 of our Year 5A classmates for making our school look amazing.
Grace in 1st place and Jamilee in 2nd place. Well done ladies, because of you, our school is looking much cleaner.
Winner Winner!!!
Jenna, Chloe, Bradley and Jayden had the opportunity on Friday to attend JCU and worked as scientists. While they were there they learnt about mosquitos. They found out that only the males feed on nectar and the females drink blood.

Nickleby The Magician came for a visit this week and it was surely and eye opener. Not every day you see someone get sawed in half and then put back together again.

I had the chance to race in the NQ Karting series on the weekend. I had a great time learning more skills and getting quicker and quicker with my kart. Looking forward to getting off my racing 'P' plates soon.

I also had the opportunity to meet one of my best friends little girl who was brought into the world on the 15th of May... isn't she just adorable :)
So many things happening... Love how busy we are and the exciting things that are happening in 5A!!!
